Non-Renewing Medicare Advantage Plans

What do I do if my plan is non-renewing?

If you have received a letter from your current Medicare Advantage plan that states they will end coverage in 2010, you have options! The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will give you a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to find a new plan.

The SEP begins 1 month before the termination effective date and ends 2 months after the effective date of the termination.  This extended enrollment period is given because CMS is aware that it may be burdensome for individuals to search out and compare new plans for their health care coverage in 2010.

Welborn Health Plans would like to offer assistance as well. Because it is difficult to understand the many plans being offered in Southern Indiana, Welborn has highly trained Medicare Specialists to help you understand your options.

Welborn Health Plans has been a part of the Tri-State community since 1986. Our members are our neighbors and friends. It is our goal to help you find the right plan for you!

A Federally-Qualified HMO with a Medicare contract.

Individuals must have both Part A and Part B to enroll. You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium even if the plan premium is $0. Members may enroll in the plan only during specific times of the year. Contact Welborn Health Plans for more information.
